Rihanna’s Return to ‘Fit Supremacy Feat. Martine Rose

There’s only one thing — other than a fresh matcha latte — that can beat my Monday blues: a new Rihanna outfit.

During Lollapalooza Paris 2022 on July 16, Rihanna blessed festival goers with her existence as she watched her man A$AP Rocky perform while fans threw perfectly good bras at him, presumably unaware of her presence backstage.

As she quietly supported her beau’s musical endeavors, Rihanna wore a Martine Rose Spring/Summer 2023 track jacket and what appeared to be Balenciaga x adidas three-Stripe leggings.

Martine Rose seems to be half of Rihanna’s steez for her sporty-chic looks nowadays.

The London-based designer’s sports jackets and track sets have been heavy in her style rotation, especially for her date night looks.

While she sadly didn’t opt for Martine Rose’s new Nike Shox mules, she did top off the look with a pair of black booties and a neck full of pearls.

Since returning to the public eye after giving birth to her reported baby boy, Rihanna’s postpartum style has largely been dictated by black sportswear pieces, evident with her Balenci-adidas and Prada looks at Rolling Loud Portugal and Wireless Fest, respectively.

While hitting up an art gallery in London, Rihanna returned to sneakers — specifically Wales Bonner x adidas Samba kicks — after sporting heels nearly her entire pregnancy.

But, let me be clear: elevated sportswear has always been Rihanna’s vibe.

I mean, did we forget about Fenty PUMA, where goth creepers, tearaway tracksuits, and motorsport bodysuits essentially became streetwear-cool?

Even before the since-dissolved Fenty PUMA partnership, Rihanna’s style often melded the worlds of streetwear, sport, and luxury together, pairing dramatic ball gowns with sneakers or trackpants with heeled sandals.

Indeed, the latest wave of sporty Rih ‘fits is nothing new, but it’s pleasing to see the bad gal deep in her sportswear bag again, especially at these music festivals.

Perhaps, she’ll find inspo at these musical events to finally release R9.
