3 Smart Outfits for the Coming Season

moncler

Earlier this year, we took a deep dive on how to dress smart in summer where we laid out some groundwork on the dos and don’ts of formal dressing in the heat. It proved to be a popular article, and we’re not surprised because dressing smart during summer is actually a difficult task. Dressing smart in fall — we have to admit — isn’t so hard.

You don’t need to take into account the sweltering temperatures and therefore avoid heavy wool or cotton that are favored in formalwear. You can also select from a range of boots and leather shoes to complement your fits without fearing sweaty feet. So why are we even here, then? We’re here not because dressing smart in fall is tricky but simply because it’s a lot of fun.

Smart fits were basically made for fall. The transitional season which is neither too hot nor too cold sets the perfect backdrop for wearing the best clothes of the whole year. Overcoats, knitwear, pleated pants, and leather kicks are back and the FW22 season is looking seriously strong in these categories. So, without further ado, indulge yourself in three smart outfits for fall selected by our Market Editors that you can shop now at Luisaviaroma.

Outfit 1

We mentioned that one of the more exciting propositions when it comes to dressing smart in fall is knitwear. This outfit relies on a JW Anderson Cableknit Quarter-Zip to make its mark. Featuring the characteristic rectangular zip pull, the quarter-zip complements understated work pants from Kenzo and a very fall-ready pair of suede boots from Brunello Cucinelli. It’s giving dad in his downtime on a ski holiday, but with a stylish twist.

Another check in the ‘fall is the best season’ column? Overcoats. This Stone Island overcoat is the star of the show here. The Primaloft filling makes it a functional and stylish addition to the fall wardrobe.

We’ve styled it with a crisp oxford shirt from Loewe, beautifully pleated pants from Maison Margiela, and a pair of contrasting Bottega Veneta Tire Boots. While the shirt and pants fit under the fall neutral palette, the bold boots echo the black coat and add emphasis to the end.

Outfit 3

Our first two outfits really catered to outdoor life during fall, but when you’re headed in, this outfit should help. We’ll start with the obvious starting point: the CAMPERLAB loafers in pink & black cow print. We couldn’t rival the boldness of this pair so we’ve opted for a toned-down remainder with Off-White™ pants and a Y-3 shirt in black. The loafers are a really nice way to smarten up a fit that isn’t necessarily that formal.
