8 Moncler Palm Angels Drops a Timely Taste of Summer

The latest 8 Moncler Palm Angels story is a timely taste of summer everyone needed amidst these cold, winter months.

Enlisting supermodel, philanthropist and forever icon Naomi Campbell for the campaign, the duo presents a diverse and playful collection that sees the collision of Italian luxury and streetwear in an inherently nineties-inspired Miami setting.

“When I started to design the collection, I had in mind a series of sports uniforms worn off the sporting field,” Francesco Ragazzi, the man behind Palm Angels and former Moncler artistic director, tells Highsnobiety.

“A non-uniform uniform interpreted through the distinctive filter of Palm Angels where Californian culture and its style of life remains a sort of fil rouge: its laidback mindset and the constant state of summer it gives, also in winter.”

Ragazzi’s admiration of American culture plays out in a sports-inspired collection that’s elegantly framed by the Magic City’s shores. Campbell — one of the most sought-after models of the era 8 Moncler Palm Angels is revisiting — can be seen wearing a striking gold Keon jacket with matching gold track pants, glistening with her own illustrious glaze.

A collaboration with Tod’s is highlighted throughout the shoot too in the form of flame and intarsia Gommino loafers, whilst the winter Gommino boots dangle from diving boards and seaward jetties.

“When collaborating with a brand like Moncler or Tod’s, for me it is as I continue to study to learn,” continues Ragazzi. “Palm Angels is a young brand and having the possibility to be in contact with such giants is a huge value for me.”

“Curation is certainly the right way to define my approach and I often use an image to describe what I do: many different things that magically come together by the simple fact of being one next to the other.”

The collection — which is available for online now — is aptly rounded out with a custom palm tree Moncler logo that, even in this colder months, is a comfortable reminder that the next summer isn’t too far away.
